God is our helper/supporter like our parents, son, relatives (people near and dear to us). Guru, who is full of qualities, whose Bani (Gurbani) fills us with eternal-Spiritual joy and the one whose qualities can’t be measured (counted) is the one who can save us and give us all the happiness and joy we ever desire.

When we go to Guru, all of our dreams and desires come true and we finish everything we started. God is the only one who is capable of giving us everything at a spiritual level (not physical objects or people). With Naam-Simran we become successful at spiritual level and get Guru’s blessings. With Guru’s Sangat, we are able to connect to God and it only happens when God blesses us with Naam-Simran.
