We should do Naam-Simran and we should never miss a chance to do Simran with Saadh-Sangat (a group of people who are as passionate about God as we are, or more). When we have God in our mind, evil and negativity can’t affect us (including black magic), we are also saved from vikaars (5 forms of Maya).

Those people who enjoy doing Naam-Simran and always have God in their thoughts, are always at peace (eternal joy) and have no worries. And for this reason, those people are saved from jaws of lust, anger, ego, attachment and greed of material objects.
