PURPOSE OF GURU
– Guru Arjun Dev ji

Our problems are solved when we find our Guru because he connects us to God, therefore my Guru is God-like. Guru teaches us how to really love God is our friend till our last breath. Guru is so valuable that even dirt off Guru’s feet eliminates problems in life (meaning we have to give ourselves to Guru by listening to him). Guru has transformed many evil people into pure souls because he eliminates the darkness of spiritual ignorance. God is the core of this existence and is Almighty and only way to connect to him is through Guru.

Guru eliminates our attachment to Maya (Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment and Ego) and connects us to God through Gurbani, and then we start loving Gurbani because this is how we praise and appreciate God. Guru takes us out from the cycle of reincarnation (birth-death-rebirth) and we don’t get stuck in any life form (there are 8.4 million possibilities). When we love Naam (God’s name & worship) we don’t care about any other greed (5 forms of Maya), and we become solid in our faith and don’t get distracted by Maya. When our mind opens to spiritual life then material world becomes un-interesting.

The lucky people who find this treasure of Naam via Guru are saved from suffering. I don’t care about any superstitious act of religion because I am blessed with connection to God, therefore my act of religion is finding my complete Guru because he knows what I need to do to connect with God. We get out of attachment to family. God created us and he takes care of us and connects us to himself – by showing us the secret of Simrun (meditation/worship to God). This is how to cross this vicious ocean like life full of problems and distractions. God has no beginning and end, he has no shape or form, he is self-sufficient, he is capable of blessing us with spiritual enlightenment. God knows what we think/desire and when Guru connects us to God we get rid of (unnecessary) desires and become content. God exists everywhere and is not affected by Maya at all and blessed us with Simrun (worship to God). GOD please bless me with Simrun and Guru so that I stay connected to you.
