DEATH AND OUR REALITY
– Bhagat Kabir ji
For an oil lamp (used in villages in the past) to give us light so that we can see everything in the house, it needs oil and a wick. When the oil and wick are burnt the house looks empty. Our body is same way, we continue to believe that we own everything but when we die our corpse remains all alone. Nobody wants to keep a dead body at home. Therefore we should do Simrun (worship/meditation to God) because that’s the only thing we (our soul) take with us after death.
When we die nobody cares whether they are your parents or wife they just want to get rid of your corpse. Whether your mom or your wife cries, people will carry your corpse to cremate, your soul will leave alone. The life is like a scary ocean and people we are attached to don’t help our soul in the end, the grim reaper punishes our soul based on our deeds.
